Para-Veterinary Institute, Karor Lal-Eason (Layyah)

Principalā€™s Message

It will be a matter of pride and prestige for me to welcome you at Para-Veterinary School, Karor Lal-Eason District Layyah. This institution has been established as a sub-campus of University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore (one of the oldest veterinary institution in Asia) in 2011.

This institution is located near Government Degree College, bypass road, Tehsil Karor Lal- Eason, District, Layyah. This campus has a covered area of 10 acres where various components (administration block, hostel, outdoor veterinary dispensary, experimental animal shed, laboratory, computer lab, class rooms, residential colony for employees, beautiful parks/lawns, roads) are being established.

The livestock sector plays a vital role for the uplift of farmer’s community and massive population of the country is engaged directly or indirectly in this sector. This sector is most vulnerable and is being used for poverty alleviation in the country besides providing animal protein source (milk, meat & eggs) to the local consumers and earning a huge foreign exchange for the country. In the village areas of southern Punjab, 70% women are directly linked to their livestock and perform daily routine work as milking, bathing their animals, feeding and overall management.

In view of emerging highly significant role of livestock in National Economy, the Para-Veterinary School (Sub-campus-University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore) is keenly interested to provide ample opportunities to the village livestock workers and un-trained female folk to realize their livestock household potentials and prepare for future challenges in this sector.

This institution has a good team of experienced and qualified teachers, who are engaged with devotion and dedication in teaching and instruction.
