International Day of Forests was successfully organized by the Senior tutor office (Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club and Society for Conservation of Environment and Nature (SCEN)- UVAS) and the Department of Environmental Sciences in collaboration with Save Our Society (SOS) Foundation on March 26, 2025. A tree was planted by the esteemed guest Dr. Shaista Sohail (CEO, SOS Foundation, former Executive Director HEC, Islamabad)

The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat, followed by a warm welcome from Worthy Vice Chancellor, who emphasized the urgent need for Forest conservation and maintaining ecological balance. The keynote speaker, Dr. Shaista Sohail delivered insightful talk on Afforestation, climate change, forest management, and ecosystem sustainability. Moreover, she emphasized taking green initiatives at community level for a sustainable future.

The Green Youth Movement Club, in collaboration with the Senior Tutor Office UVAS, organized a seminar titled "From Vision to Action: How PMYP is Shaping Youth Development." The session highlighted the opportunities offered by the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP), empowering students to transform their aspirations into impactful actions through skillbuilding, education, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
