Third Party Evaluation of QEC

On the recommendation of World Bank, Higher Education Commission, Islamabad conducted a “Third Party Evaluation” of Quality Enhancement Cell, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore on 23rd October, 2013.  The review team comprised of: Dr. S.M. Qureshi, Mr. Abdul Aziz Sangi and Ms. Zainab Tiyyeba. The review team conducted an extensive meeting with the Program Team, Assessment Team, Faculty Members and Students to discuss various aspects of Quality Enhancement Cell in UVAS.

The Review Team had a long session with Dr. Dawar Hameed Mughal Director, QEC, and Muhammad Asif, Deputy Director, QEC on: establishment of QEC, its organization structure, selection and functions of Program and Assessment Teams, quality of assessment its control and improvement, response to the concept of self assessment and co-operation, achievements in improvement of quality and continuous maintenance with respect to Intake of students, faculty, curriculum, delivery of instructions, assessment/examinations, research and development activity and expenditure, publications, innovation and patenting, general outlook and marketability of graduates,  the HEC ranking and common weaknesses of the departments and programs and recommendations for their improvement.

At the end of their visit, the review team had a meeting with Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (Vice Chancellor, UVAS) to discuss issues and future plan regarding the assessment mechanism implemented by Higher Education Commission. The Vice Chancellor also appreciated the contribution and efforts of QEC Team regarding the achievements made by UVAS under the umbrella of QEC.
