Biography

Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Rizwan is currently working as Assistant Professor in the discipline of Parasitology, KBCMA College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CVAS) Narowal, sub campus University of Veterinary and animal sciences (UVAS), Lahore, Pakistan. He did DVM in 2012, M.Phil. Parasitology in 20014 and Ph.D. degree in the field of Parasitology from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. During his higher education, he has worked as Research Associate in various research projects titled “ (a) Phytotherapy: an easy and economic way to cure the gastro-intestinal parasites in sheep funded by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, Pakistan, (b) Arthropod functional genomics: building community resources for animal health funded by HEC Pak-US Science and Technology Cooperation Program (Phase IV), and (c) Screening livestock population of marshy districts of Punjab through conventional and immunodiagnostic methods and determination of risk factors and comparative chemotherapeutic control of fasciolosis” funded by HEC, Islamabad, Pakistan. During his Ph.D., he was selected to join Dr. Saeij’s group at University of California Davis (UC Davis), USA under USAID student exchange program to increase his skills in molecular biology while studying the Toxoplasma gondii. At the UC Davis he has worked on “serotyping of Toxoplasma gondii for determination of strain specific infection” and “Knockdown of Ku80 gene in Toxoplasma and Neospora to control cyst formation”. He is actively involved in developing research activities to diagnose and control parasitic diseases in addition to academic activities. He is profoundly involved in the teaching of following Undergraduate courses of Parasitology to the students of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM):
