Biography

Dr. QaiserAkram(HEC approved supervisor), is serving as an Assistant Professor in Department of Microbiology, KBCMA, UVAS, Narowal Campus. He completed his PhD degree in Microbiology from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore under indigenous Ph.D fellowship awarded by HEC, Pakistan. His Doctoral dissertation title was “Biomass production of oil based trivalent FMDV vaccine using roller bottle culture system”. Dr. QaiserAkram had been the visiting scientist at Animal Diagnostic Lab (ADL), Penn State, USA; there he performed diagnostic procedures for various animal diseases. He was also trained on use of cell culture for viral diagnosis and molecular techniques for identification of infectious agents. Before joining UVAS, Dr. QaiserAkram has served as Assistant Professor in Department of Microbiology atBaha-Ud-Din zakariyaUniversity (BZU), Multan. Along with teaching activities, he also has supervised M.Phil, MS and B.S students. His research focuses on the development of multivalent vaccines against prevalent diseases in Pakistan.

Research Interest:

  • Investigate the role entry mechanism of virusesin host cells.
  • Production and evaluation of multivalent cell culture based viral Vaccines against devastating diseases in the field.
