CAUSE |
Fusobacterium necrophorum. Common where wet, unhygienic or abrasive conditions predispose foot infection. |
SYMPTOMS |
Characteristic odor, sudden onset of fever and lameness only one foot is usually affected. lnterdigital skin swollen, necrotic and fissured at cleft. Swelling extending up the limb. |
TREATMENT |
Parenteral and topical antibiotics |
CONTROL |
Removal of abrasive and wet areas in yards and lanes, hygienic measures with bedding and footbaths. |
