Biography

Dr. Jamal Nasir is working as a lecturer in Department of Meat Science and Technology, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences since 2010. He holds Master of Animal Science (Meat Science Major) from University of Melbourne Australia. He graduated as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. During his Masters he completed his research project titled ‘Enhancing retail meat color and shelf life of lamb meat for changing climate’. He has 3 years of working experience in Meat Industry of Pakistan. He has got trainings from Meat and Livestock Australia regarding carcass judging, grading and carcass yield and from Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and Dubai Municipality (Abattoir Section) on Meat Quality and Inspection systems. He is a member of Aus-Meat (Meat and Livestock Australia). He has got PCEPT Training (Professional Competency Enhancement Program for Teachers) organized by Higher Education Commission in 2011.

Area of Interest

His areas of interest are Carcass grading and evaluation, meat cutting, Meat Inspection, Hygiene of meat and meat products.
