Department of Dairy Technology at UVAS can play a pivotal role in combating student food insecurity by producing and distributing dairy-based products such as Laban, desi ghee, flavored milk, butter, cheese, and even ice cream. These products can be incorporated into food assistance programs to provide students with nourishing options. Moreover, the department can engage in research to develop affordable ice cream options, which, when included in food assistance initiatives, can bring moments of joy and comfort to students while addressing their nutritional needs, thereby contributing to a holistic approach in tackling food insecurity on campus.
