HABITAT:

  • Grows wild from the Ravi Eastwards, is planted in Sindh and Mirpur

DESCRIPTION:

  • Up to 25 m high deciduous Tree
  • Leaves are 7-20 cm by 4-8cm, opposite, simple, obovate, entire, acute or obtuse, glabrous above.
  • Petiole 2-5 cm long
  • Flowers are yellow or dull white with 10 petals, are hermaphrodite.
  • Calyx tubular, glabrous, with acute lobes.
  • Fruit is an ovoid drupe, glabrous, shiny,4-6 ribbed ,yellowish green when dry
