Biography

Dr. Mubashrah Munir is working as Chairperson/Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan since 2019. She worked in Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) as Assistant Professor and Lecturer Botany for 12 years.  She did Ph.D. Botany from (PMAS-AAUR) under indigenous HEC Indigenous 5000 PhD fellowship Program. In Ph.D. research project she dealt with ecology of the algal flora of Kalar Kahar Lake and its Tributaries. She visited Michigan State University, USA under HEC IRSIP programme for pursuing PhD degree and got training on Algal Taxonomy and Ecology especially Diatoms. She identified 341 algal species and overall, 32 new taxa were recorded from Kalar Kahar Lake. She got M.Sc. and M. Phil. degrees in Botany from Govt College University Lahore.  She has completed research project “Ecotaxonomic study of algal flora from few areas of Pothwar region as Principal Investigator”.  She also worked as Co-PI in HEC (NRPU), 2021 entitled “Study on therapeutic effect of Calotropis against Theileriosis in Livestock”. Currently she is working on NRPU project “Management of total mixed ration fungi using selected algae and plants”.  She also focuses to cultivate plants through Plant Tissue culture technique.
