Admission Guidelines

  • Admissions for Undergraduate Degree Programs usually opened once in a year during Fall Semester i.e June/ July.
  • Applications for admission to various Undergraduate degree programs are invited through an advertisement in the National Press. Admission is made purely on merit basis from amongst the applicants. The following degree programs are offered by the University

Eligibility Criteria

WEIGHTAGE

  • Intermediate or Equivalent Part-1 (70%) / A Level or A Level (A1/ AS) or Any Other Foreign Equivalent Qualification (70%) / DAE or DAE(2 Years Passed Result) (70%)
  • Matric / O level or Any Other Foreign Equivalent Qualification (30%)

AGE LIMIT

  • Candidate must not be over 25 years of age on the last date of submission of application.

Prefernce (s) / PRIORITY (ies)

  • Candidate will be granted admission on the basis of Preference (s) / Priority (ies)  that has been given by the himself/herself.

Degree Programs

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D)

  • At least 60% marks (excluding Hafiz-e-Quran) in F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) or an equivalent examination from recognized institution / Board.
  • 20 marks for Hafiz-e-Quran will be awarded subject to clearance of test. Candidates must bring their original documents on the day of test.
  • The final merit will be based on marks obtained in Matric / O-Level or any other equivalent examination and F.Sc. /A-Level or any other equivalent examination.

BS Human Nutrition & Dietetics

  • At least 50% marks (excluding Hafiz-e-Quran) in F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or any other equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University can apply for admission.
  • 20 marks for Hafiz-e-Quran will be awarded subject to clearance of test. Candidates must bring their original documents on the day of test.
  • The final merit will be based on marks obtained in Matric / O-Level or any other equivalent examination and F.Sc. /A-Level or any other equivalent examination.

BS Food Science and Technology
BS Poultry Science
BS Environmental Sciences

  • At least 50% marks (excluding Hafiz-e-Quran) in F.Sc. (Pre-Medical / Pre-Engineering) or an equivalent examination from recognized institution / Board.
  • 20 marks for Hafiz-e-Quran will be awarded subject to clearance of test. Candidates must bring their original documents on day of test.
  • The final merit will be based on marks obtained in Matric /O-Level or any other equivalent examination and F.Sc. / A-Level or any other equivalent examination.

BS Dairy Technology

  • At least 50% marks (excluding Hafiz-e-Quran) in F.Sc. (Pre-Medical / Pre-Engineering) or an equivalent examination and DAE (Food Technology / Chemical Technology ) from recognized institution / Board.
  • 20 marks for Hafiz-e-Quran will be awarded subject to clearance of test. Candidates must bring their original documents on day of test.
  • The final merit will be based on marks obtained in Matric /O-Level or any other equivalent examination and F.Sc. / A-Level or any other equivalent examination.

BS Computer Science

  • At least 50% marks (excluding Hafiz-e-Quran) in F.Sc. (Pre-Engineering) / F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) / ICS or an equivalent examination from recognized institution / Board.
  • 20 marks for Hafiz-e-Quran will be awarded subject to clearance of test. Candidates must bring their original documents on day of test.
  • The final merit will be based on marks obtained in Matric / O-Level or any other equivalent examination and F.Sc. / A-Level or any other equivalent examination.

 

BS Biochemistry
BS Applied Microbiology

  • At least 45% marks (excluding Hafiz-e-Quran) in F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) or an equivalent examination from recognized institution / Board.
  • 20 marks for Hafiz-e-Quran will be awarded subject to clearance of test. Candidates must bring their original documents on day of test.
  • The final merit will be based on marks obtained in Matric / O-Level or any other equivalent examination and F.Sc. /A-Level or any other equivalent examination.

BBA

  • At least 45% marks (excluding Hafiz-e-Quran) in F.Sc. (Pre-Medical / Pre-Engineering) / FA / ICS / I.Com. or an equivalent examination from recognized institution / Board.
  • 20 marks for Hafiz-e-Quran will be awarded subject to clearance of test. Candidates must bring their original documents on day of test.
  • The final merit will be based on marks obtained in Matric / O-Level or any other equivalent examination and F.Sc. /
    A-Level or any other equivalent examination.

 

For Intermediate or Equivalent Candidates

  • Second year (Part-II) result awaiting candidates of intermediate or equivalent (1st Annual Exam 2026) are eligible to apply if they have passed all subjects of Part-I.
  • Candidate who have already passed their intermediate or equivalent exams in 2025 or earlier, will be evaluated on the basis of their complete results.
  • Result awaiting/improvement Candidates will be granted admission PROVISIONALLY, after securing the admission, they must pass their intermediate or equivalent Part-II in 1st Annual exam of 2026 as well as their overall result must meet the minimum eligibility criteria of the concerned degree program; failing which admission will be cancelled and deposited fee will not be refunded.
  • Candidates shall be required to submit their final result card within stipulated time period in the relevant Departments; failing which admission will be cancelled and deposited fee will not be refunded.

For DAE Candidates

  • Third year result awaiting candidates of DAE (1st Annual Exam 2026) are eligible to apply if they have passed all subjects in their previous 2 years exams.
  • Candidate who have already passed their DAE Exams in 2025 or earlier, will be evaluated on the basis of their complete results.
  • Result awaiting/improvement Candidates will be granted admission provisionally, after securing the admission, they must pass their DAE in 1st Annual exam of 2026 as well as their overall result must meet the minimum eligibility criteria of the concerned degree program; failing which admission will be cancelled and deposited fee will not be refunded.
  • Candidates shall be required to submit their final result card within stipulated time period in the relevant Departments; failing which admission will be cancelled and deposited fee will not be refunded.

For O/A Level:

  • Second year (A2) result awaiting candidates of A Levels are eligible to apply if they have passed all subjects of A1/AS. Their A1/AS grades evaluation will be performed on the basis of IBCC equivalence criteria.
  • Candidate who have already passed their O/A-Level Exams in 2025 or earlier, will be evaluated on the basis of their complete results.
  • Result awaiting Candidates will be granted admission provisionally, after securing the admission, they must pass their A2 in 1st Annual exam of 2026 as well as acquire and submit IBCC equivalence certificate.
  • The A-level result awaiting candidates must submit O-Level IBCC certificate for evaluation. The submitted equivalence certificates of O-Level and later on, A-Levels must meet the minimum eligibility criteria of the concerned degree program; failing which admission will be cancelled and deposited fee will not be refunded.
  • A-Level Examination 2026 passing candidates shall be required to submit their IBCC equivalence certificate within stipulated time period in the relevant Departments; failing which their admission will be cancelled and deposited fee will not be refunded.

Note:

  • Candidates holding F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) qualification seeking admission to degree programs whose prescribed eligibility is F.Sc. (Pre-   Engineering) may be granted admission. Such candidates shall be required to complete two compulsory 03-Credit Hours Courses in Mathematics during the first year of study.
  • Candidates holding F.Sc. (Pre-  Engineering  ) qualification seeking admission to degree programs whose prescribed eligibility is F.Sc. (Pre-  Medical  ) may be granted admission. Such candidates shall be required to complete two compulsory 03-Credit Hours Courses in Biology during the first year of study.
  • Candidates possessing O-Level / A-Level or any foreign equivalent qualifications must have to submit the equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) Islamabad – Pakistan within stipulated time in the relevant Departments; failing which admission will be cancelled and deposited fee will not be refunded in any case. Other Important Information

  • Prospectus can be downloaded from the University Website, www.uvas.edu.pk.
  • Application will be filled online at University Website.
  • Candidates are advised to use their personal email / mobile numbers. All important updates regarding admission will be sent only on email / mobile numbers.
  • Candidate will pay an amount of Rs. 1500-/ as Admission Processing Fee (only for one program). The candidates applying in more than one discipline will pay Rs. 300/- for each additional program. If the application is to be submitted against sports quota, then the candidate has to pay additional fee of Rs. 300/-
  • Candidates can deposit the application fee through online generated Bank Challan in any branch of Bank Alfalah in Pakistan as well as through any Credit / Debit Card and One Link.
  • Candidates are directed to upload CNIC/ B Form and required educational / other relevant documents at specified place in online admission form.
  • Only successful candidates are required to submit printed copy / hard copy of the admission from along with original paid bank challan as well as other supporting documents to the Convener Admission Committee, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Out Fall Road, Lahore- 54000 at the of admission / Enrollment.
  • Candidates are advised to fill the Application Admission Form carefully after reading the instructions and especially the column for preferences of different disciplines. The selection of the candidates shall be made purely on merit basis.
  • A candidate can give choices of all disciplines in the order of priority. However it is advised to avoid giving unnecessary choices of disciplines which may not be acceptable to the student afterwards.
  • The order of preferences once given shall be final and cannot be changed subsequently in any case at any stage. Merit will be determined according to the given preference of disciplines and their order of priority.
  • Starting with the first preference, applicants will be assessed and ranked according to the merit for each discipline. A computerized matching process will place the applicants (meeting the minimum merit requirements) to the highest listed his / her preference.
  • Once offered a place to the highest listed preference, an applicant cannot claim admission to the discipline named lower in his / her preference.
  • An applicant, under no circumstances, shall be considered for any discipline, he/she has not named in his/her order of preferences. The Admission Committee shall not assign any discipline by itself if the alternate choices are not indicated.
  • List of admitted students will be displayed on the website www.uvas.edu.pk, and on Notice Boards of the office of Convener of the Admission Committee on the date mentioned in the admission advertisement in the National Press.
  • Candidates shall not be informed about their selection in any merit / quota lists and they will have to check their status form the lists displayed on UVAS website.
  • Students applying for admissions shall give an order of preference for Morning and Evening programs separately offered at each campus. The order of preferences once given by the candidate in the application shall be final and cannot be changed subsequently.
  • If a candidate has applied domain of morning and evening programs separately, then he/she will compete separately for these domains.
  • In case of occurrence of vacant seat, the candidate will be upgraded automatically in subsequent lists to a degree program listed higher in his/her order of preference.
  • The Tentative Master List of all applicants along with their marks will be displayed on UVAS website after the closure of the admission to ensure transparency and for error correction if any. The applicant may apply within 48 hours by Email (ugadmissions26@uvas.edu.pk) if there is a discrepancy in the master list. Afterwards, no claim will be entertained.
  • The final master list will be displayed after omitting the errors (if any).
  • Admissions of those candidates will be stand cancelled who will provide false information related to their academics/personal etc at any stage during and after the admission which is not challengeable in any court of law.
  • In case of circumstances do not get normal due to COVID-19 or any other unavoidable situation for academic activities at Campus; University will start online classes of the students on notified schedule to save the time and future of students. 
  • If any candidate fails to deposit the University dues within the stipulated period after the display of admission lists, his/her admission shall stand cancelled automatically without any prior notice and the admission on that seat will be offered to next waiting candidate on merit basis. His name will also be displayed on the website and Notice Boards.
  • 100% Ready University for online / on campus teaching during Covid -19 or any other unavoidable situation as directed by Govt.

Note:

  • In case of less than 15 students in any program (Morning/Evening), admission in that discipline will be suspended and students will be offered admission in other disciplines based on his/her choice without any change in merit.
  • The candidate can update his/her already uploaded data, except Quota and the Degree Programs in which he/she already applied, after deposit of challan fee till the last date to apply online.
  • Limited numbers of seats are available at hostels purely on merit basis.
  • Incomplete or late submitted applications will NOT acceptable.
