BLOOD AND SERUM CHEMISTRY ANALYSIS LAB

In this laboratory, chemistry analyzer and hematology analyzer, fluorescent microscope and centrifuge machine have been installed. The SOP’s of hematology and serum chemistry analysis have been prepared. Blood and serum samples from birds, equine, canine, bovine, sheep or goats are routinely received in the laboratory and are processed for blood and serum analysis.

Following activities are routinely executed in the laboratory:

1. Serum chemistry analysis

Fourteen different serum chemistry tests can be performed on each serum sample. The tests are total serum protein, total albumin, glucose, cholesterol etc.

2. Complete blood count (CBC)

Eighteen parameters of the each blood sample such as total erythrocytic count, total leukocytic count, differential leukocytic count, hemoglobin estimation etc., can be determined.

 

 HISTO-PATHOLOGICAL LAB

In this laboratory, embedding station, microtome, auto-stainer, knife maker, ELISA reader, balance, pH meter and centrifuge machine have been installed. The SOP’s of hematology, serum chemistry analysis and histopathology have been prepared and techniques are being validated.

     1.   Histo-pathological examination
           Histopathological examination of infectious and non-infectious disease of livestock and            poultry is performed.

2. Immuno-histo-chemistry
   Immuno-histo-chemistry of rabid samples such as saliva, brain tissue, etc is performed.
