Biography

Dr. Ahmad Yar Qamar is currently working as a Lecturer of Theriogenology at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Jhang campus,University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, since November 2011. He holds DVM andM.Phil.degree in Theriogenology from UVAS, Lahore. His research work during M.Phil. was “Effect of cholesterol addition to buffalo bull semen during cryopreservation procedures on post-thaw survival of spermatozoa”.He conducted a significant part of his M.Phil. research at the Al-Haiwan Sires, Sahiwal, and Department of Theriogenology, UVAS Lahore. He also worked as Research Assistant in the ALP projectin the department of Theriogenology, UVAS Lahore for 04 Months.He worked as a reproduction consultant, at Living Dairies, Chunian District Kasoor for almost 2 years before joining the CVAS, Jhang. Dr. Ahmad Yar Qamar has completed his doctoral degree under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jongki Cho in August 2020 from Chungnam National University Daejeon, South Korea availing Global Korean Scholarship(GKS).During his Ph.D. studies, he worked on the freezing of canine sperm using freezing extenders supplemented with different antioxidants, adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (Ad-MSCs) and Ad-MSCs derived exosomes. During his Ph.D. studies, he also served as a teaching assistant and researcher in a project related to companion animal reproduction. His fundamental expertise is in the field of Animal Reproduction, semen cryoprocessing, andultrasonography. Moreover, he is also interestedinthe diagnosis and treatment of diseases, and common reproductive problems in dairy and farm animals. His main responsibilities include the teaching of different courses of Theriogenology, handling of different clinical cases, research, and providing extension services to livestock farmers. He is the author of several research publications in high impact factor journals and conference proceedings.
