(v) one Dean to be nominated by the Chancellor on the
recommendation of the Vice Chancellor;
(vi) one Professor, one Associate Professor, one Assistant Professor and
one such Lecturer as has completed a minimum of two years service
in the University to be nominated by the Vice Chancellor with the
approval of the Chancellor;
(vii) three persons of eminence

including at least one woman

from
amongst stakeholders including professionals from relevant
disciplines of industry/ trade to be nominated by the Chancellor;
(viii) the Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, University of Agriculture,
Faisalabad;

(ix) one Principal of the affiliated colleges to be nominated by the
Chancellor;

(ix) one of the Principals of the constituent colleges, institutions or
schools to be nominated by the Vice Chancellor;
}
(x) the Secretary to Government of the Punjab, Forestry, Wildlife and
Fisheries Department or his representative not below the rank of
Additional Secretary;
(xi) the Secretary to Government of the Punjab, Finance Department or
his representative not below the rank of Additional Secretary; and
(xii) the Secretary to Government of the Punjab, Agriculture Department
or his representative not below the rank of Additional Secretary.
(2) Members of the Syndicate, other than ex-officio members, shall hold
office for three years.
(3) The quorum for a meeting of the Syndicate shall be one third of the total
number of members, a fraction being counted as one.
23.
Powers and duties of the Syndicate.–
(1) The Syndicate shall be the executive body of the University and shall,
subject to the provisions of this Ordinance and the Statutes, take
effective measures to raise the standard of teaching, research and
publication and other academic pursuits and exercise general
supervision over the affairs and management of the property of the
University.
(2) Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing powers, and subject
to the provisions of this Ordinance and the Statutes, the Syndicate shall
have the power to –
(a) take effective measures to raise the standard of teaching, research
and publication in the light of national needs;
