Laboratory offers a wide range of tests encompassing the quality of livestock and food of animal origin
not only to meet the requirement of international trade but also help to provide quality food for the
nation.
Activities in Quality Operation Laboratory:
Activities are divided in three sections
MICROBIOLOGY SECTION
PATHOLOGY SECTION
TOXICOLOGY SECTION
MICROBIOLOGY SECTION
Equipment available are Real time PCR, Thermal cyclers, ELISA readers and Automatic ELISA washers,
Electrophoresis apparatus, Gel documentation system, Blotting Apparatus, Particle Counter, ,
Fermentor, Ultracentrifugation machine, Automatic dispensing system, Inverted microscope with digital
camera, Sonication system, Animal cell culture facilities.
Moreover, vaccine production against various infectious agents like Foot & Mouth Disease Virus (FMDV)
A, O ASIA I, Haemorrhagic Septicemia (HS), Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV), Avian Influenza Virus (H7,
H9) are also being pursued for academic and research purposes.
