M.Phil Pharmaceutics
The pharmaceutical industry, hospital and retail pharmacies, chemical & research laboratories and
instrumentation manufacturing constitute the major portion of the application of pharmaceutical
sciences in Pakistan and the personnel developed in different disciplines of pharmaceutics and shall be
capable of serving the national needs related to all these areas.
The main research interests of the Institute include:-
Biopharmaceutics and bioequivalence studies.
Formulation development and pharmaceutical technology beneficial for the pharmaceutical
sector.
Pharmacy practice for equipping the postgraduates with skills to analyze the health care needs
of the country and developing their research skills.
Application of molecular biology and biotechnology in pharmacy.
Facilities
Multimedia fitted air conditioned class rooms, computer lab with internet facility and a library with
latest books / journals. Modern labs have been established equipped with following the necessary
instruments.

Formulation design and development of solid dosage forms and their characterization (In-vitro /
In-vivo)
Modified release / Novel drug Delivery Systems using drug carriers like Micro particles
Nanoparticles
Multiple emulsions
Designing of emulsion-based formulations
Transdermal Drug Delivery System (TDDS) including patches and gels.
Cosmeceuticals
Bioavailability/ bioequivalence and clinical pharmacokinetic studies.
Pharmacy practice areas including Community Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy,
Dispensing and Patient care services.
Screening and formulation development of Indigenous medicinal plants and pharmaceutical
dosage forms.
Pharmaceutical stability studies including microbiological studies
