To prevent infection, it is recommended to take following precautions:

  1. Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. This kills viruses that may be on your hands.
  2. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, and encourage others to do the same.
  3. Thoroughly cook meat and eggs
  4. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness, such as coughing and sneezing.
  5. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth. Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.
  6. Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.
  7. Avoid unnecessary travel
  8. Avoid congregating in large groups
