Biography

He did his DVM (1998), M.Sc.(Hons) (2000) from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and Ph.D (2010) from UVAS Lahore. He has been awarded with Merit scholarship through out Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree program from 1995-1998 in College of Veterinary Sciences, Lahore. He secured first position in M. Sc. (Hons.) in Discipline of Veterinary Pathology and won Silver Medal in 2000 in University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. Dr. Yasin Tipu has been serving as a Teacher (on contract) in Pathology Section of College of Veterinary Science from Aug.2000 to June. 2002 and in Department of Pathology, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences from June 2002 to Oct. 2002. He was selected as first Assistant Director and served in Directorate of Advanced Studies & Research of UVAS from Nov. 2002 to Oct. 2005. He was selected as Assistant Professor (Pathology) in Quality Operations Laboratory, UVAS in October  2005 and served there till March, 2014. In April 2014, he was selected as Associate Professor of Pathology in the Department of Pathology in UVAS and working there since then. He has also been awarded with STAR award by South Asian Publications in 2009. He is involved in Teaching and Research in the Department of Pathology under direction of Chairman Department of Pathology since January 2003. He has also been a  Member Editorial Committee of University “News Bulletin” from June 2003 to March 2005, Member Technical Purchase Committee for Quality Control Laboratory with reference to World Trade Organization, Member/Secretary Postgraduate prospectus committee from Nov 2002- Oct 2005, Member Fee committee for postgraduate degree programs for the year 2004-05, Served in the Office of Controller of Examinations of UVAS for one month and helped in first ever result of D.V.M. final year; arranged first ever orientation program for postgraduate students at UVAS and delivered a lecture on the importance of Advanced Studies in 2003. He also organized and delivered lectures on Rules & Regulations in an Orientation Seminar for newly inducted faculty of UVAS in June 2004 also delivered an orientation lecture on composite DVM degree program at College of Veterinary Sciences, Jhang in 2006. He has been acting as Management Representative (Technical) for implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 in Quality Operations Laboratory, UVAS since 2006. Currently, in addition to teaching and research activities, he is involved in students’ extra curricular activities and acting as advisor to UVAS Qira’at and Na’at Society.  He is an active member of Board of Studies, Department of Pathology; member of Faculty synopsis scrutiny committee of Faculty of Veterinary Science (FVS); member of Faculty Board of Studies (FVS); member of UVAS Selection Committee for BPS- 01-16.
