Biography
Prof. Dr. Khushi Muhammad, is a Professor/Chairman, Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. He holds DVM, M.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Microbiology and Ph.D. in Microbiology from University of Surrey, UK. He is specialization in area of Veterinary Immunology and Vaccinology. He has over 32 years of teaching, research and administration experience.
He developed PC-I of “Establishment of Quality Control Laboratory for Testing Livestock and Foods of Animal Origin with Reference to WTO”, Sustainability of WTO-Quality Operations Laboratory in UVAS,” and Augmentation of FMD+HS Vaccine Production Potential and Immunoprophyalxis against these Diseases in Cattle and Buffaloes”. He won fifteen research grants and currently conducting two research projects. He has completed more than 14 research projects funded by Government or Private funding agencies (Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, Pakistan Council for Science, and Technology, Pakistan Science Foundation, Government of Punjab, ASPL-II).. He was first chairman of Department of Microbiology and first Director of WTO-Quality Control Laboratory. He is second time Chairman, Department of Microbiology in UVAS, Lahore. He is currently member of many administrative and academic bodies of the University.
He has supervised over 27 M.Phil and 7 Ph D students and currently supervising 5 PhD and 3 M. Phil students in Department of Microbiology. He has published more than 77 research papers in HEC recognized journals and 22 research papers in international refereed scientific journals. He has papers in many national and international conferences. He was selected for HEC Best University Teacher Award for the year 2005.
