|Statutes and Curricula of Two years Livestock Assistant Diploma Course|
The Fee will be charged in full annually.
No dues will be paid in installments.
Rules & Regulations:
a). Minimum qualification Matric with Science (Biology) 2nd. Division (At least 45% marks)
b). Domicile Punjab
d). The Registrar, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore will send the Admission Notice for publication in National daily newspaper/s after receiving it from the Director, Institute of Continuing Education & Extension UVAS, Lahore.
e). Application for admission on prescribed form will be submitted to the Director, Institute of Continuing Education & Extension, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore. The Director will admit the candidate on merit and place them according to the allocation of seats in the following institutions.
i) University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore. (100 seats)
ii) Livestock Services Training Center, Bahadurnagar, Okara. (50 seats)
iii) Livestock Services Training Center, Sheikhupura (50 seats)
iv) Barani Livestock Production Research Institutes, Kherimurat, Attock. (50 seats)
f). Fresh admission will normally be made each year in the month of August. The classes will commence from 1st. October of each Calendar year.
g). Director, Institute of Continuing Education & Extension, UVAS, Lahore will be the overall in-charge of the said two years diploma course offered at UVAS Lahore and its affiliated institutes.
h). Registration of the students will be made by the Controller of Examinations, of respective University, after notification of admission by the Director, Institute of Continuing Education & Extension and on receipt of Bank Challan showing deposit of the prescribed University dues and medical fitness certificate by the University Medical Officer.
i). Student conduct and discipline:
a. Every student admitted to the Livestock Assistant Diploma Course, shall be required to give an undertaking to abide by the rules and regulations of the University and to carry out such orders and instructions as may be issued by the University authorities from time to time under the regulations relating to discipline and conduct of the University.
b) The applicant who wants to apply on rural area seat along with usual domicile certificate will also have to provide a certificate from the Tehsildar/ Naib Tehsildar on the form prescribed by the University that he resides in rural area of his Tehsil.
2. Hostel Accommodation:
Hostel accommodation will be provided only if available
3. Mode of Examination:
a. The Controller of Examinations of the University will be responsible for the examinations of the course. He shall conduct the examination as per following:
i. The mode of examination shall be annual system.
ii. The student shall be examined at the end of each academic year (May).
iii. Principal / Directors of each affiliated institute will nominate internal examiners for each subject.
iv. The Director, Institute of Continuing Education & Extension will nominate
v. Internal examiners shall set the paper for each examination and send it to the Controller of Examinations. The Controller of Examinations shall send theses papers to the examiners of the respective subject of the University (external examiners for affiliated institutes). The examiners of each subject will set a final question paper including at least 50% questions set by the internal examiners of each affiliated institute.
vi. A date sheet will be prepared by the Controller of Examinations in consultation with the Director, Institute of Continuing Education & Extension.
viii. The practical examination of each subject shall be conducted in the respective institute by the nominated external and internal examiners. In UVAS, the practical examination shall be conducted by the nominated examiner.
ix. All the answer sheets will be marked by the external examiner and the award list and answer sheet (both theory and practical) will be forwarded to the Controller of Examinations of the University by the time notified by the Controller of Examinations.
x. After examination, the student shall be sent for internship. The arrangements for internship will be made by the Director ICE&C in consultation with the representative of L&DD Department.
xi. Regarding grading of internship, fifty percent weightage will be given to the evaluation done by the Incharge of the Laboratories / Hospitals / Farms and 50% weight will be given to the evaluation done by the panel of three examiners appointed by the Vice Chancellor out of six members recommended by the Director, ICC&C.
b). Supplementary examination of the failed students will be held after 40 days of the notification of result by the Controller of Examinations, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore.
c). The student of each academic year will be given only three chances to pass all the subjects i.e. annual, supplementary and the next annual, irrespective of the fact whether he avails any of the said three chances or not. Thereafter, no further chance will be given.
d). 75% attendance of each subject both in theory an practical separately would be compulsory, failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear in the examination. The student, who could not appear in the examination due to shortage of lectures will be considered fail in the subject.
e). The student who will pass at least 2/3rd. of the subjects of 1st. year will be promoted to 2nd semester provisionally subject to passing the requisite subject/s within the given chances.
f). If a student fails in any of the subject/s of the 2nd. year class, he will have to pass the subject/s in two chances i.e. supplementary and the next annual exam. only.
g). no student will be awarded diploma unless he /she pass all the subject of the course within the given chances.
i). The award list will be submitted by the concerned teacher to Controller of Examinations who will notify the result.
j). To qualify for the award of the diploma, the student shall be required to secure at least 40% marks separately each in Theory & Practical.
k). Forty makes are allocated for one credit hour for the course being offered.
4. Award of Diploma
Diploma will be awarded only to the successful candidate by the Controller of Examinations of the University.
