During the beginning of the 21st century, creation and
up-graduation of many institutions into Universities in the country has
created a demand for the quality education. To achieve an aim of having
quality future graduates, Higher Education Commission (HEC) funded and
established Quality Enhancement Cells (QECs) in 10 Universities of the
Pakistan. In 2nd phase HEC has chosen UVAS as one of the 20 institutions
to constitute QEC. In 2006, Director Research had the charge of the Cell
along with 3 other additional charges. Having the experience of working
in the area of quality education, 2nd Vice Chancellor of the University
has keenly established the QEC office in the UVAS. This office has
started its basic work form the March, 2007. The QEC has a manual
(proposed by HEC) to initially implement a Self Assessment System for
the Universities to evaluate institutional strengths, weaknesses and
priorities for improvement in relation to stated aim and objectives
