Department of Microbiology

Department of Epidemiology and Public Health

Research priorities are focused to conduct innovative epidemiological research for risk assessment, development and established centers of excellence in epidemiology, food hygiene, public health and herd health. Recently department has started several research projects of molecular epidemiology to establish use of recent molecular techniques Following are some of the Research priorities of the department:

  • Herd Health management in relation to animal food production.
  • Emerging public health problems and Zoonotic diseases.
  • Disease prevention, control and eradication of major livestock diseases.
  • Food safety with respect to milk & meat quality control.

Department of Theriogenology

The priorities of research of Theriogenology Department are:

  • Preservation, evaluation and A.I. services with Semen.
  • Ovarian follicular development in farm animals (local breed )

Department of Poultry Production

  • Evolving high yielding germ-plasm for commercial& rural poultry sector;
  • Optimizing feed & nutrient requirement of poultry birds for different stages & purposes;
  • Poultry processing, value addition, product development and marketing;
  • Poultry reproductive physiology;
  • Poultry Housing & Environmental Management.

Department of Dairy Technology

  • Improvement of milk handling and processing
  • Improvement of meat handling and processing and optimum utilization of abbatoir wastes.
