Keynote Speakers

Dr. Sohail Ejaz, Cambridge, UK

Topic of Lecture: Insight of Modern Medicine; Recent Drug Discoveries and Their Impact on Modern Medicine.
Dr. Sohail Ijaz has an experience of 17 years in Academia and Clinical Research. He started his academic career from Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. Currently he is Operational Director/ Clinical Research Lead at Addenbrookes Hospital, University of Cambridge, UK. He has 58 publications with a total impact factor of 150. He has supervised 11 PhD students and 48 MPhil students.

Prof. Dr. Gerry Amor Camer, UEP, Philippines                          

Topic of Lecture: Pre-Clinical Trials and Role of Veterinarian in Modern Medicine.
Prof. Dr. Gerry Amor Camer has experience in research of more than 20 years. He started his career as an academician and researcher from CVM, University of Eastern Philippines in 1991. He acquired his MSc and PhD in veterinary medicine from University of Philippines and Rakuno-Gakuen University respectively. He served as Dean, College of veterinary medicine at University of Eastern Philippines till 2015. He is a nationally accredited University Professor and is an Achievement Awardee of National Research Council of Philippines. He is currently working on Molecular Pathology and DNA algorithms for next global pandemic at Rakuno-Gakuen University, Japan as Visiting Professor.


Prof. Dr. Lim Chae-Woong, CNUJ Korea 

Prof. Dr. Lim Chae-Woong started his academic career in early 90’s as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Illinois, USA. Since then he has worked as faculty member in Chonbuk National University, Korea and University of Helsinki, Finland. He also spend time in University of California-Davis, USA as Visiting Professor. He has a PhD in veterinary pathology and earned a specialty certification from Korean college of veterinary pathologists. He is currently working as Professor in Chonbuk National University, Korean.

Prof. Dr. Khaleeq ur Rehman, FJMU, Lahore  

Prof. Dr. Khaleeq ur Rehman graduated as a Medical Doctor from Nishtar Medical College, Multan in 1984. He is a renowned urologist and is currently working as Professor of Urology and Andrology in FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, Lahore. In past, he has worked as postdoctoral fellow of Urology/Sexual Dysfunction at McGill University, Canada. He earned a certification in Sexual Medicine from Oxford. He is also a Fellow in European Committee of Sexual Medicine. He has numerous International and National publication.

Dr. Tahir Mehmood Khan, Monash University, Malaysia 

Dr. Tahir Mehmood Khan graduated with Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2001 from University Sains, Malaysia. He started his academic career in 2008 as lecturer at Island College of Technology, Penang, Malaysia. He chose clinical pharmacy as his major area of study and since then he has worked in many universities in various countries. He currently appointed as Senior Lecturer of pharmacy practice in Monash University Malaysia. He is also program consultant and visiting professor at University Technology Mara, Malaysia and as Adjunct Professor at Abasyn University, Pakistan.

Prof. Dr. Ahsan Numan, PGMI, Lahore

Prof. Dr. Ahsan Numan is one of the reputable neurologists of Lahore. He has over 20 years of experience in the field of neurology. He started he career as a clinician in 1996 by joining Mayo Hospital, Lahore as House Officer. He is currently appointed as Professor and Head of Department of Neurology, Ameer-ud-din Medical College Lahore General Hospital, Lahore. He has supervised numerous postgraduate students and over 10 projects.

Dr. Waqas Sadiq, AstraZeneca, Molndal Sweden 

Dr. Waqas Sadiq graduated with Bachelor of Pharmacy from University of Punjab, Pakistan in 2005. He started his career as pharmacist in 2006 from Children Hospital and Institute for Child Care, Lahore.  He earned his Doctorate from Uppsala University in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2012. He is currently working at AstraZeneca, A multinational Pharmaceutical company as Associate Principle Scientist.

Guest Speakers

Dr Athar Aziz                                                      

Dr. Ather Aziz is a lecturer in Biomedical Sciences, University of Salford, UK. He obtained his bachelors in Medical Laboratory Technology from Sheikh Zayed Post-graduate Medical Institute, Lahore. He started his career from Sheikh Zayed Post Graduate Medical Institute, Lahore in 1997, where he worked as a demonstrator. He then went for his post-graduation in Molecular and cellular biology from University of Heidelberg, Germany. He obtained his doctorate in Immunology/ Cellular Biology from Universitie de Aix-Marseille II, France. He worked as Research Associate for five years in one of the most prestigious institutes in the world, University of Cambridge. He has numerous publications and has attended various workshops. He is also an awardee of many grants and fellowships.



Dr. Hafsa Zaneb                                                                     

Dr. Hafsa Zaneb joined the Department of Anatomy and Histology as a Teaching Assistant in 2003. She was selected as Lecturer in 2004 and as Assistant Professor in 2009. Her major responsibilities include departmental administration, teaching and research.
She specializes in Equine Movement Analysis, and has been offering consultancy to Lahore Race Club, Lahore Polo Club and Riding Section of Islamabad Club. She established Applied Anatomy Group (AAG), a student forum, where open house seminars, workshops and skeleton development activities are arranged for under graduate students. Currently she is on panel of experts of King Edward Medical University for their PhD program and is an advisor to Punjab Public Service Commission.
Conduction of Professional Development Programs is one of her major interests. She has instrumented Professional Competency Enhancement Program for Teachers (PCEPT) in UVAS five times. She has actively participated and modulated DVM Curriculum Revision exercises both at institutional and national level. Currently she is serving as Secretary of HEC’s National Curriculum Revision Committee for DVM Program.
