AJK In-Service Livestock Professionals complete one-month Refresher Training Course on Artificial Insemination at UVAS
LAHORE (12-04-17): The Department of Theriogenology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Livestock & Dairy Development Department Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) organised a one-month “In-Service Artificial Insemination (Refresher) Training Course” for livestock assistants from AJK.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and Director General Livestock & Dairy Development AJK Dr Matloob Hussain Raja co-chaired the concluding session of workshop on Wednesday and distributed certificates among the participants. Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Masood Rabbani, Prof Dr Mian Abdul Sattar, Course Coordinator Dr Aijaz Ali Channa and many Artificial Insemination (AI) professionals from AJK were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that UVAS’s doors are always open to all and its assistance and services are available for practitioners/researchers across the country. He urged the trainees to apply their knowledge in practical field and contribute to the uplift of livestock, dairy and related sectors. He said that the aim of the training was enhancing milk and meat production in Pakistan through Artificial Insemination techniques.
Dr Matloob Hussain Raja acknowledged the UVAS role in the development of livestock sector through its quality education and thanked the university for organising such a useful workshop. Earlier Dr Amjad Riaz highlighted the importance of the course.
